Sometimes accidents happen, out when we ride, in the stable, or out in the pasture. Then it’s important to be ready to take care of our fine horse in the best possible way. That’s why we highly recommend our Rheva wound protection. A fantastic and innovative wound protection that keeps the wound clean and protected. In addition, the wound protection breathes, which means a faster healing process. Wounds on horses unfortunately tend to attract flies and insects, but that’s nothing you need to worry about—our wound protection keeps them away so they can’t reach the wound. Gently clean the area around the wound. Make sure the fur is free from dirt, debris, and any coat shine products.
Open the Rheva package. Avoid touching the adhesive surface.
Carefully place the protection over the wound and make sure the adhesive edge attaches properly to the clean, dry fur around the wound.
Gently press the adhesive edges for a few moments to ensure a good seal. The protection is designed to stay in place during movement.
The important thing is that the adhesive surface is free from dust, gravel, soil, and dirt. Even coat shine and e.g. fly spray impair adhesion. These products should not be on the fur for good healing.
The adhesive sticks immediately, but sits better after a few hours. It is good if the animal can be still during that time. Rheva withstands moisture very well once it has stuck.
Small is designed for wounds up to 2.5×4.5 cm and also works well on exposed parts of the animal. Normally, we recommend small for legs and joints. Large is suitable for injuries elsewhere on the body and works for wounds up to 7×4 cm.
